Vehicle Overturned on Stovepipe Hill
July 8, 2025
A storm approached the area as multiple calls for service came in for first responders. The Sadsburyville Fire Company was summoned to southbound Old Wilmington Road north of North Street in Sadsbury Township for an auto accident reported serious. The call came in at 18:12, and also dispatched for Keystone Valley EMS and Westwood Paramedics.
Rescue 31 marked up within minutes with a crew of four led by the Fire Chief. Deputy Chief Grossman arrived on location with EMS 08 units and reported a vehicle on its roof. The Sadsbury Township Police Department simultaneously reported the vehicle overturned with one patient trapped inside.
The Old Wilmington Road Command was established by DC 31 and fire police shut down the roadway between Reel Street and North Street. Sadsburyville rescue crews rapidly worked on gaining access to the patient, stabilizing the patient with EMS providers, and removing the driver side doors and B post. Firefighters utilized the e-draulic Hurst rescue tools from Rescue 31 to perform these actions.
The extrication was complete at 18:24 and crews began to get equipment back onto Rescue 31 in the drenching rain. Keystone Valley and Westwood EMS transported one patient to a local trauma center for further evaluation.
