Firefighters Use Hydraulic Rescue Tools to Extricate a Patient in Sadsburyville

On September 19th, 2017 at 0903 hours, Sadsburyville Fire/Rescue, Keystone Valley EMS and Medic 93 were dispatched to the 2900 block of Lincoln Highway in Sadsburyville for an auto accident with entrapment. Rescue-Engine 31 and Assistant 31 arrived within minutes and immediately deployed the hydraulic rescue tools to free the patient from the vehicle. Due to the accident the accident was unable to open their door, our hydraulic rescue tools on Engine 31-1, made it possible for EMS to properly extricate the patient.

The patient was extricated within minutes of Sadsburyville units arriving and the patient was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. Due to the accident, a utility pole was compromised and was later on fire when Peco was working to mitigate the situation. Peco was on scene within an hour to control the electric incident.

Fire Police from Sadsburyville and Westwood were on scene to direct traffic around the scene.
