Working Car Fire on Lincoln Highway, Sadsbury Township

Wednesday at 1635 the Sadsburyville Fire Company was dispatched for a car fire in the 3000 block of Lincoln Highway in Sadsbury Township. Calls to 911 indicated a car on fire in the area of the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Octorara Road or possibly Lincoln Highway and Octorara Road. Fire Chief Grossman responded and received these reports at 1639.

Arriving at 1640 Chief Grossman advised of a working car fire at Lincoln Highway and Cowan Road, flames were seen coming from the engine compartment and spreading to the passenger compartment. Engine 31-1 arrived at 1641 and firefighters deployed the 1-3/4" hose line stowed in the front bumper.

Firefighters battle the blaze for a couple minutes before quickly bringing the fire under control at 1645. Engine 31-2 arrived with additional manpower, equipment and water but was not utilized. Firefighters racked hose back onto Engine 31-1 and cleared the scene at 1700.
