On August 15th, 2016 at 1333 the Sadsburyville Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Westwood Fire Company with a technical rescue. Initially the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched for a fire alarm in East Fallowfield, when Fire Police Officer Law was responding he observed a person roll their lawn mower into a creek trapping them.

Upon arrival of Rescue 44 they went in service with stabilization and utilized air bags to lift the lawn mower off of the patient. This process took several minutes and manpower which is when Engine 31-1 was summoned to the scene.

The extrication was complete approximately 15 minutes after arriving on location. Ambulance 44-1 and Medic 93 transported the patient to a local trauma center for further evaluation.

While picking up from this call, Engine 31-1 was redirected to a shrubbery fire in the 1200 block of West Lincoln Highway. Engine 31-1 arrived to find a controlled burn and recalled the assignment.
