House Fire Upgrade on Church Street, Parkesburg Borough

On February 10th, 2016 at 1422 the Sadsburyville Fire Company for an engine was dispatched to the 100 block of Church Street in Parkesburg Borough for a furnace malfunction assisting the Keystone Valley Fire Department. Based on reports from the 911 caller of they were fighting a fire with a fire extinguisher, the assignment was upgraded to a house fire.

At 1428 Ladder 08 arrived and advised of a middle of the row dwelling with smoke showing from the exterior. Firefighters placed an 1-3/4" hand line in service and went interior for fire attack.

Keystone Chief Gathercole arrived at 1429 and established Church Street Command and requested a working fire dispatch to be alerted bringing a rapid intervention team and medic unit to the scene. There was also reports of sick or injured people and a second ambulance from Westwood was summoned to the scene.

Engine 31-1 with a crew of 5 firefighters arrived at 1435 and went in service with ventilation and conducted a basement check on the exposure building.

The fire was placed under control at 1446 with all hands working. The fire is under investigation by the Chester County Fire Marshal's Office. Sadsburyville Fire cleared the scene at 1500 and returned to quarters.
