Auto Accident with Entrapment on West Kings Highway, West Caln Township

On December 14th, 2014 at 1228 hours the Sadsburyville Fire Company Fire and QRS were dispatched to assist the Wagontown Fire Company on an auto accident with entrapment in the 1100 block of West Kings Highway in West Caln Township. Engine 31-1 fully staffed led by Chief Grossman marked up at 1234 hours.

Westwood Ambulance 144 arrived at 1235 hours reporting heavy entrapment and placed a helicopter on standby. At 1239 hours Engine 31-1 arrived and stabilized the car to open up for patient packaging. Rescue 35 arrived at 1240 and firefighters from both companies worked together using Hurst hydraulic rescue tool to disentangle the vehicle and free the occupant.

Wagontown Chief Ziegler held the Kings Highway Command. Fire police had a portion of Route 340 shut down during this operation.

At 1254 hours the extrication was complete and the patient was transported to a landing zone established at Kings Highway Elementary School. Firefighters worked together to return equipment to the apparatus. Sadsburyville units cleared the scene at 1322 hours.
