On April 14th, 2014 at 1138 hours the Sadsburyville Fire Company No. 1 and Keystone Valley Fire Department were dispatched for an auto accident on Route 10 north of Hershey Lane in Sadsbury Township. The assignment was immediately upgraded to having entrapment bringing an additional ambulance and a medic unit to the scene.

Minutes later Assistant Chief Reynolds arrived on location and established Route 10 command, found was a multi-vehicle accident with confirmed entrapment.

Gap Fire Company cleared a nearby building fire and responded to assist. Keystone and Gap firefighters worked cooperatively to extricate a victim from one vehicle and Sadsburyville Fire Company provided care at another vehicle. Unfortunately in a third vehicle a victim succumbed to their injuries.

Fire Police from mutual aid companies assisted at the scene, closing down Route 10 between Route 30 and Hershey Lane for an extended period of time.

Sadsburyville Fire units remained on the scene and assisted with the investigation and removal of the fatal victim.

Thank you to all of the fire companies that assisted on this busy day as there were numerous incidents going on around the area, in addition most volunteers had a busy weekend of responding to emergencies. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families involved in this incident.
