Auto Accident with Fire on Route 10, Sadsbury Township

On Friday March 25th, 2022 at 0357 hours the Sadsburyville Fire Company and Keystone Valley EMS were dispatched to the 500 block of Octorara Trail in Sadsbury Township for an auto accident involving fire. Engine 31-2 was clearing a relocate at Station 36 and made an immediate response. Units arrived to find a vehicle fully involved with flames and a large quantity of diesel fuel from a saddle tank involved in flames.

Additional resources from the Keystone Valley Fire Department were summoned to the scene bringing Rescue 08, Tanker 08, Tac 08 and fire police.

Brush 31 arrived and led off with a 1-3/4” hose line and began suppressing the fire, followed by Engine 31-2 with a back up hose line. Rescue 08 supplied additional manpower to the operation and Tanker 08 supplied a water source in a non-hydrant area.

The fire was under control within about 20 minutes and crews spent time controlling leaking diesel fuel running down the roadway.
