Brush Fire in Hayti, Valley Township

At 0948 hours the Sadsburyville Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Westwood Fire Company on a brush fire in the 200 block of Cemetery Road in the Hayti section of Valley Township. Initially the Westwood Fire Company was dispatched and requested an additional brush truck to respond summoning Utility 31. In addition Engine 31-1 responded with additional manpower and resources.
Arriving at 0956, Utility 31 and Engine 31-1 went to work with Westwood firefighers to bring the fire under control. Firefighters from both companies worked together for 15 minutes until the fire was under control. Engine 44-5 and Ambulance 44-1 were also on scene and Westwood Deputy Chief Scott held the Cemetery Road Command.
