Mutual Aid Water Supply Drill
By Fire Chief Adam Grossman
June 29, 2016
On Wednesday June 29th, 2016, the Sadsburyville Fire Company participated in a regional training session with the Wagontown Fire Company. Also attending the training were Glen Moore, Westwood and West Bradford Fire Compabies.
Tonight's training focused on rural water supply. Fire hydrants are a great source for water in the event of a fire but are not always available, especially in rural Chester County. In situations like this water needs to be shuttled in by tankers to supply a fire scene.
Throughout the night several thousands of gallons of water was shuttled into the training where Engine 31-1 acted as the attack piece. Engine 31-1 was in service with their deck gun and hand lines flowing roughly 1,000 gallons per minute.
Units:
Engine 31-1
Firefighter Rust manning the deck gun.
Engine 31-1
Wagontown Battalion Chief Yearsley
Engine 44-5 dumping their 3,000 gallons of water.
Several hand lines from Engine 31-1 were in service.
