| Just as the clock was about to strike midnight, the tones went out and volunteers headed to the station to respond fire apparatus for a reported building fire in the 1900 block of Saginaw Drive in the Millview section of Coatesville. Also on the box assisting the Coatesville Fire Department was Westwood and Coatesville VA.
Minutes later firefighters arrived to find a working fire in an apartment of the wood frame light weight truss constructed building. A working fire dispatch was struck bringing additional apparatus from Keystone Valley, Wagontown, Downingtown and Thorndale.
Firefighters opened the walls of an apartment to expose the fire that appeared to have start on the exterior. Fortunately no injuries were reported and all occupants were able to escape the flames. The fire was under control at 0031 hours with all hands working.
Sadsburyville Fire cleared the scene at 0116 hours. Engine 31-1, Engine 31-2 and Squad 31 responded to the call. The Chester County Fire Marshall's Office was called to the scene to investigate the cause and estimate the damage. |
