| On Friday May 30th, 2014 at 0851 hours, the Sadsburyville Fire Company was dispatched to a reported house on fire in the 1900 block of Valley Road in Sadsbury Township. Both the Sadsburyville and Westwood Fire Companies responded to assist the Keystone Valley Fire Department, as a mutual aid response.
Keystone Valley Deputy Chief Gathercole arrived on scene and reported an electrical fire in the basement, which was extinguished by the home owner. Upon confirming the report with Deputy 8, Sadsburyville firefighters began ventilation efforts, along with pulling the electric meter to the hot water heater's breaker box.
PECO was notified and requested to the scene due to a possible power surge to the residence. Units on the scene included Ladder 08, Engine 31-1, Engine 44-5 and Ambulance 08.
Arriving units provided additional ventilation and traffic control support. Upon placing the situation under control, Deputy 08 released Engine 31-1 and Engine 44-5. Station 08 remained on-scene until PECO arrived. No injuries were reported and there was very minimal smoke damage in the basement. |
