| On August 28th, 2013 at 1739 hours the Sadsburyville Fire Company, an engine and ladder from the Keystone Valley Fire Department, a pumper tanker from the Westwood and Cochranville Fire Companies and a rescue from the Wagontown Fire Company were dispatched to the 2900 block of Lincoln Highway in Sadsbury Township for a reported house on fire.
Within 6 minutes from the time we were dispatched, Sadsburyville’s suppression engine, Deputy Chief Supplee and a 3,000 gallon water tanker from the Westwood Fire Company were on scene.
It was quickly determined there was a small fire in the kitchen. Sadsburyville firefighters deployed a hose line into the structure to put out the fire while the crew from Westwood began to search the home to assure everyone was out and ventilated the smoke out of the structure.
Other units from the Keystone Valley Fire Department arrived on location and fell into the manpower pool, but were not utilized, as well as the Wagontown and Cochranville units dispatched were recalled as the fire was quickly placed under control.
A quick response, good leadership and teamwork left the structure of the house with minimal damage. A job well done was put forward by the Sadsburyville and Westwood Fire Companies and the Keystone Valley Fire Department. |
