| On Saturday July 13, 2013 volunteers from the Sadsburyville Fire Company traveled to the West Chester Fire Department Training Center to meet up for a Saturday breakout training session with the Modena and Westwood Fire Companies. Training for the day was to include live fire training exercises.
Firefighters spent the day refreshing their skills on basement fires, communications, accountability and search and rescue. Between every evolution firefighters had to pack all the hose back onto the apparatus and start every evolution as if they were just pulling up on the apparatus.
After several hours of constant firefighting, crews called it a day and cleaned up before returning back to Westwood and was provided lunch compliments of Sadsburyville. The Sadsburyville Fire Company would like to thank the Westwood and Modena volunteers who gave up their day to better our service for our community. Our goal is to train regionally to provide the best service possible for our communities.
Modena will be returning to West Chester Training Center in the fall with their entire company and will be also inviting Westwood and Sadsburyville to join them for some additional live fire training.
Thank you to Modena Chief Dowlin for the pictures from the day. |
