Members Attend Coatesville Building Fire Drill
By Firefighter Jeff Cole
February 19, 2013
On Saturday February 16th, 2013, Sadsburyville firefighters participated in a multi-company/department large-scale drill hosted by the Coatesville Fire Department. Engine 31-1 was requested to be the RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) during the drill. In mock scenarios a down firefighter mayday was alerted and the RIT team was deployed to save the downed firefighters. Firefighters had to use various tools to breach walls and rescue firefighters from a roof collapse. The drill helped enhance communication between members, fire companies and incident commanders.
We would like to thank the Coatesville Fire Department for extending the invitation to us to train with them.
