By Lieutenant Adam Grossman
February 23, 2007
On February 23rd, 2007 at 18:46 hours the Sadsburyville Fire Company, Pomeroy Ambulance, Parkesburg Fire Company and Brandywine Medic 93 were dispatched to Old Wilmington Road in Sadsbury Township for an auto accident reported serious. Initial reports from the Chester County dispatch center were one vehicle overturned with one subject still reported inside.
Chief 31 (Supplee) was first to arrive and confirmed the report and advised of entrapment. Engine 31-2 arrived with 3 personnel and immediately began stabilizing the vehicle. QRS 31 arrived and began patient care. Pomeroy Ambulance 29 arrived and assisted 31 QRS crews. Parkesburg Rescue 28 arrived and removed the driver side of the car to make better access and extrication paths for the patient.
Sky Care was dispatched to the scene and transported the patient by air to Lancaster General Hospital. Assistant 31 (Trader) landed sky care in a nearby field. Crews cleaned up debris after the extrication and waited on scene until PennDot arrived with a salt truck due to icy roads in the area.
