Car Fire Training
By Assistant Chief Adam Grossman
July 19, 2010
On Monday night July 19th, 2010 the Sadsburyville Fire Company conducted their weekly training session. This week's topic was SCBA, hose line advancement and car fires.
Captain Conroy was the leader of the tonight's training session that started with a SCBA review in our hall before getting into the live fire evolutions.
Firefighters then geared up as the cars were lit off. Engine 31-2 staged at a location in the township and was dispatched on a side channel to respond to our firehouse for an automobile fire. Once on location crews encounter fire conditions in two vehicles. Crews advanced numerous lines and tried different techniques to extinguish the fires and gain access to the different compartments of the cars.
Thank you to the Volunteers for keeping up with our training. Also thank you to Reed's Auto Salvage for providing us with the cars to use.
