By Assistant Chief Adam Grossman
July 12, 2010
On July 12th, 2010 the Sadsburyville Fire Company was dispatched to Old Mill Road north of Octorara Road in Sadsbury Township for trees and wires. This call came quickly after two back to back medical locals in our local, 1 being at our station with a drive up injured person. Both calls were caused due to the storm.
Assistant Chief Grossman, Chief Supplee, and Engine 31-2 with 4 went in the area and found a tree on fire leaning on the high tension wires. The smoke could be seen from the intersection of Old Wilmington Road and Lincoln Highway in Sadsburyville.
Peco was notified of the problem and requested to respond to the scene. Units remained on the scene until the fire was burned out by itself, the road was closed with cones until Peco got there.
Units:
Engine 31-2, Command 31
Command 31 and Engine 31-2 on the north side of the incident.
