| On April 12th, 2010 at 1054 hours the Sadsburyville, Parkesburg and Atglen Fire Companies were dispatched to assist the Pomeroy Fire Company in the 1900 block of Valley Road for a reported structure fire.
Pomeroy Assistant Chief Gathercole arrived on scene within 2 minutes of dispatched and advised the county of the PJs Deli Property involved. He reported heavy fire showing from a 2 story commercial, requested a working fire dispatch and assumed Valley Road Command.
After doing a size up of the alarm, due to the lack of fire hydrants in that area, a tanker task force was requested to bring more water to the scene. Tankers from the Westwood, Cochranville, Martins Corner, and Christiana Fire Companies were dispatched to assist.
Engine 31-1 and Engine 31-2 both responded with a crew of 6 personnel. Engine 31-2 arrived shortly behind 29 units and assisted with initial fire attack. Engine 31-1 assisted with supplying water to the primary attack pumpers.
Sadsburyville Volunteers remained on the scene for just over two hours assisting with salvage and overhaul of the structure.
Thank you to the Honey Brook Fire Company for standing by in our station while we helped bring this fire under control.
