Mutual Aid Training Conducted At WCFD Training Center
By EMS Captain Mike Audette
August 15, 2009
On Saturday August 15th, 2009 the Sadsburyville Fire Company held a live burn training session at the West Chester Fire Department Training Center. As part of always enhancing our skills we invited two of our mutual aid companies to train with; those two being the Parkesburg and Westwood Fire Companies.
The morning started by Battalion Chief Grossman thanking everybody for coming out and a walk through of the burn building that we would be conducting the training in. The goal of the day was to get members more comfortable with live fire and practicing advancing our hose lines to get to the fire.
Numerous evolutions were completed in basement, first floor and second floor fires. The teams were made up of different personnel from each company to get the firefighters comfortable with other companies operations.
We would like to thank the Parkesburg and Westwood Fire Companies for taking the time out of their hot day to train with us to provide a better service for our community and theirs. Also thank you to the West Chester Fire Department for allowing us to utilize their facility.
