| In the early morning of Saturday January 17th, 2009 at 0524, the Sadsburyville Fire Company was dispatched to assist the City of Coatesville Fire Department in the area of Church Street and Lincoln Highway in the West End section of Coatesville City for multiple working structure fires and reports of people trapped inside.
Engine 31-2 responded at 0529 with a crew of 5 led by Battalion Chief Grossman. Engine 31-1 was quickly behind with a crew of 3 led by Fire Chief Supplee.
Sadsburyville units arrived on location and began conducting a primary search of the second floor. Other crew members stretched additional lines to suppress the fire.
Fortunately the occupants of the home evacuated upon our arrival and no more victims more located during the search. Much work was put into this fire to bring it under control, not to mention the 0 degree temperatures hurting the efforts.
Crews remained on the scene and assisted with salvage and overhaul of the structure and cleared around 0900. While on scene of this fire, Parkesburg Engine 28 and Pomeroy Engine 29-1 were dispatched to Peacemaker Drive in Sadsbury Township for an automatic fire alarm. Deputy Chief Reynolds went on location and determined there to be no problem and recalled the assignment. |
