By Battalion Chief Adam Grossman
December 20, 2008

On Saturday December 20th, 2008 members of the Sadsburyville Fire Company got a visit from a special person that we all know so well as Santa Claus. As it is the holiday season the members only felt it would be right to tour Santa around Sadsbury Township (North) to see who has been naughty and who has been nice!

Engine 31-1 was Santa's Sleigh of the night as QRS 31 acted as Rudolph and guided Santa through the streets of Sadsbury Township. During this process as young boys and girls would come out of their house to see what all the ruckus was about, our members would deliver candy canes.

The night was successful and most all of Sadsburyville's local was covered by Santa Claus.

During the tour of Sadsbury Township, QRS 31, Pomeroy and Parkesburg Ambulances were dispatched to Routes 10 and 30 for an auto accident. Engine 31-1 also made the response as they were in the area at the time of alarm.

Units arrived on scene and found three vehicles involved. Chief Supplee established "Route 30 Command" and requested a second Ambulance to the scene due to more then 1 patient. Westwood Ambulance 44 ended up making a response to the incident. The second Ambulance that didn't get out was canceled due to Ambulance 44's capabilities of transporting both of the patient to local facilities.

Engine 31-1 blocked the lanes of traffic through the duration of the incident to protect our personnel from oncoming traffic.

Sadsburyville units cleared the scene a short time later.

Units: Engine 31-1, QRS 31

Mutual Aid: Westwood Ambulance 44
