| On Saturday August 23rd, 2008 at 0830 hours the Sadsburyville Fire Company Volunteers gathered at the Firehouse to take Engine 31-2 and QRS 31 to the Annual Sadsbury Township Community Day for display.
Units arrived at 0900 hours and reported in to the parks and recreation committee. Crews began setting up a fire prevention table with all fire safety information and trinkets for kids. The information included arson awareness, carbon monoxide awareness, smoke detector campaigning, fire prevention materials, coloring books, kid's fire helmets and junior firefighter badges to stick on them.
Throughout the day numerous vendors were on site including DJ Earl Taylor keeping the beat up with some music, food and drinks were being sold, a silent auction was held and a 50/50 drawing was given out counting up to $220.00 for the winner. The day was over at 1500 hours and fun seemed to be had by all.
Thank you to the Sadsbury Township Board of Supervisors for allowing us to attend this event and educate the public on what we do and what they can do to help their selves and us.
If anyone is interested in any fire safety and prevention materials, please stop by the firehouse on any Monday or Thursday night after 1800 hours to obtain the literature. |
