| Just prior to Midnight on July 7th, 2008, at 23:14 hours, right after our volunteers worked our weekly Thursday night Bingo fund raiser, the company and Pomeroy Brush 29 were dispatched to the 400 block of Quaker Road in Sadsbury Township for the reports of a tree on fire. Chief Supplee went en route at 23:17 and was advised of tree with flames visible along the roadway.
Engine 31-2 responded at 23:19 hours with 4 personnel led into action by Assistant Chief Trader.
Chief Supplee and Battalion Chief Grossman arrived in the area and could not locate the fire as there is not a 400 block of Quaker Road. After further investigation Battalion Chief Grossman located the fire in the 100 block of Quaker Road, along the road way as the reports suspected.
Chief Supplee recalled the Pomeroy Fire Company Brush Truck as their services were not needed to extinguish the blaze.
Engine 31-2 arrived and deployed the "booster" line to attack the fire. Chief Supplee placed the fire under control at 23:24 hours.
Sadsburyville units cleared the scene at 23:32 hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation. |
