| On Tuesday June 10th, 2008, at approximately 13:00 hours, an engine from the Sadsburyville Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Parkesburg Fire Company for the reports of smoke in a building in the 600 block of Green Street in Parkesburg Borough. Engine 31-2 responded minutes after dispatch.
Parkesburg Ambulance 28 was first to arrive on location and reported unattended cooking in one of the apartments. Engine 31-2 was the second arriving engine and assisted Parkesburg crews with ventilating the structure. Units were quickly returned.
At around 19:00 hours the Sadsburyville Fire Company was once again alerted for a building fire at the Zeke's Oil Company in the Pomeroy section of Sadsbury Township. Engine 31-1 and Engine 31-2, both fully staffed, quickly responded but were held in quarters by Pomeroy Chief Sellers as they were pulling out of the firehouse. The assignment was quickly recalled due to no problem being found.
To end the rainy night Sadsburyville members returned to their monthly meeting and conducted it under emergency lights due to the heavy rain storm that was coming through. |
