Large Field Fire In Sadsbury North

By Firefighter/EMT Bill Dill
March 30, 2008

On Sunday March 30th, 2008 the Sadsburyville Fire Company and a brush truck from the Pomeroy Fire Company were dispatched to Quaker Road and Holstein Drive for the reports of a brush fire. Sadsbury Township Police Sergeant Gerry Ranck happened to be driving in the area when the fire was rapidly spreading and reported the fire.

Fire Chief Supplee arrived on location, established Holstein Drive Command and advised of an acre of field on fire. In addition Chief Supplee requested another brush truck to the scene from the Westwood Fire Company, brining Tac 44.

Units made a quick knock of the fire and saved it from spreading to adjacent homes and outbuildings. Luckily the fire was discovered before it had spread too much.

Holstein Drive Command placed the fire under control and placed units available from the scene a short time later.

Units: Engine 31-2

Mutual Aid: Westwood Tac 44, Pomeroy Brush 29
