| On Saturday, March 29th, 2008 the Sadsburyville Fire Company and Pomeroy Fire Company were dispatched 1719 at to an odor of something burning inside an apartment building in the 3000 block of Lincoln Highway in Sadsbury Township.
Battalion Chief Grossman arrived on the scene with "nothing showing" from the front of the building. Upon further investigation, Battalion 31 discovered a heavy odor of food burning inside the building and instructed firefighters to attempt to gain entry through exterior windows before entry was gained by forcing the door.
As all the windows were locked, the door was forced to gain entry to the apartment.
Upon entry, a heavy smoke condition was encountered throughout the apartment by crews. The source was quickly traced to the stove.
Firefighters quickly ventilated the apartment and confirmed no one was home.
Once the smoke had been cleared, all units cleared the scene and the information was turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police. |
