| At 10:14 AM, the Sadsburyville Fire Company was dispatched, along with the Chester County HazMat Team, to the 900 block of Octorara Trail in Sadsbury Township for a reported hazardous materials incident. The caller reported a 1,000‑gallon propane tank actively leaking at a commercial fuel station.
Rescue 31 arrived and met with facility staff to assess the situation. Staff had already secured propane flow to the fill station, and crews began investigating to determine whether the action had stopped the leak.
Given the occupancy type, call classification, available resources, and the time of day, additional units from Keystone Valley Fire Department and Westwood Fire Company were added to the assignment to support operations.
Deputy Chief Grossman established Octorara Trail Command, while Chief McCarthy assumed Operations on WestOPS 1.
After a thorough investigation, the situation was determined to be under control. The HazMat team was recalled, and the incident was scaled back to units on scene for final checks and documentation. |
