| Traffic 31 and fire police assisted with a major highway closure on Monday night as part of a regional traffic control response supporting an accident in Valley Township.
Fire Police units from multiple departments were assigned to shut down the Route 30 Bypass in both directions between Route 82 and Route 30 in Sadsbury Township. The Westwood Fire Company was operating at the primary incident, a serious tractor‑trailer accident on the eastbound bypass at mile marker 270.3, just east of Airport Road.
The crash involved several vehicles and multiple patients, prompting EMS responses from several agencies. Due to the severity of the incident and the complexity of the cleanup and investigation, the highway remained closed for nearly 19 hours, extending well into Tuesday before reopening.
Sadsburyville Fire Police remained committed on the assignment for several hours, ensuring safe and effective traffic control throughout the extended operation. |
