| On Thursday February 6th, 2008 at 08:56 hours, during our weekly Thursday night bingo, the Sadsburyville Fire Company was alerted for an engine to assist the Coatesville City Fire Department with a building fire on the 300 block of Valley Road in the West End Section of Coatesville City. Initially the Coatesville City Fire Department and an Engine from the Westwood Fire Company were dispatched with reports of light smoke coming from the basement of the structure. Assistant Chief Bob Tracey arrived first on location reporting heavy smoke showing from a three story apartment building, assumed the Valley Road Command and requested Sadsburyville to the scene.
Engine 31-2 was dispatched and arrived on scene eight minutes after the time of dispatch with a crew of five. Engine 31-2's crew began opening up the second floor checking for extension from the fire that began on the first floor. Crews found fire conditions in numerous walls of the structure. At this point crews split and went to the third floor to check further. In the end, there ended up being fire on all three floors. This was due to the building construction and extensive manpower needed.
Additional crews from the Modena, Thorndale, East Brandywine, Wagontown, Cochranville and West Whiteland Fire Companies were called into bring this blaze under control. Final Sadsburyville units cleared the scene at 00:09 hours.
