At 23:11 hours the company along with mutual aid units were dispatched to the 200 Block of N. Sandy Hill Rd. for a reported house fire. The homeowner who arrived home found smoke in the residence and called 911. Units arrived onscene and determined that it appears the residence was struck by lightning which caused a gas heater to catch fire and damage some other items in the residence.

The assignment was scaled back once it was determined that their was no active fire and crews had made entry to the areas to confirm such. Then additional units onscene were released once the residence had been checked.

Crews made sure the heater and surrounding wall areas were extinguished and that all other areas of the home were checked and had PECO secure the power and gas to the residence.

Crews remained while the County Fire Marshal's investigated and cleared just before 01:30 in the AM.
