On Sunday February 26th, 2017 at 1817 hours the Sadsburyville Fire Company and mutual aid from Keystone Valley, Westwood and Wagontown were dispatched to the 2900 block of Lincoln Highway in Sadsbury Township for a building fire. The caller saw flames from the exterior of the building and alerted the employees that discovered a fire inside.

Upon arrival of Chief Grossman at 1820, Past Chief Supplee reported a fire knocked down by a fire extinguisher but still actively burning. Chief Grossman assumed Lincoln Highway Command.

Arriving 5 minutes after the time of dispatch at 1822, Engine 31-1 (Battalion Chief Conroy) and crew of 4, led off with the front bumper line to the front door. Firefighters went interior and extinguished a fire contained to a large commercial dryer. Assistant Chief Reynolds assumed operations.

Additional firefighters threw ground ladders to the roof and checked the exhaust pipe for extension.

Firefighters performed natural ventilation and check for extension in the adjacent dryers, ceiling and walls. With no extension the fire was placed under control at 1829 and the assignment was held to the on scene units from Sadsburyville.
