Simultaneously Sadsburyville Firefighters conducted two training sessions Monday Night including First Aid and Vehicle Rescue. Annual First Aid training was held at the Sadsburyville Fire Company while several other members conducted Vehicle Rescue training at the Westwood Fire Company.

Firefighters simulated a trapped patient underneath of a car where they had to stabilize the car from tipping over and lift the car off of the patient for extricating. These tasks were completed by using the Paratech Rescue Struts and Air Bags carried on Rescue 44, the only Rescue in the area with these heavy duty struts. Generally these rescue struts are used in rescue of larger vehicles such as tractor trailers, but for tonight's training purposes we used them on a small passenger vehicle.

In addition 6 other firefighters completed basic first aid training at the Sadsburyville Fire Company. This class teaches our firefighters basic first aid that they would use at situations like auto accidents until an Ambulance would arrive.

Again we thank all of our firefighters for their continuous dedication to training, they are all volunteering their time.
