House Fire Drill on Julie Drive, Sadsbury Township

On Monday August 5th, 2015 at 1930 hours the Sadsburyville Fire Company and Keystone Valley Fire Department conducted a house fire scenario drill on Julie Drive in Sadsbury Township. The purpose of the drill was to raise awareness of on street parking and emergency operations.

Fire equipment from both stations proceeded into the simulated house as if it were a real emergency. Upon arrival firefighters raised the ladder truck to the roof, through ladders to the windows for egress and deployed numerous hose lines used for suppressing the fire. Supply lines filled the street from the water source to the apparatus involved.

All in all, an emergency scene operation takes a lot of needed street surface. The way most of our apparatus is set up, we operate off the sides of them so with cars in the way it can be a bit cumbersome. Thank you to the residents and township officials involved in this project and the Keystone Valley Fire Department for assisting.
