Auto Accident with Entrapment, Sadsbury Township

On Wednesday November 26th, 2014 at 1308 hours the Sadsburyville Fire Company, Keystone Rescue and Ambulance 08 and Medic 93 were dispatched to the 3000 block of Lincoln Highway across street Old Mill Road in Sadsbury Township for an auto accident with entrapment.

At 1310 hours Assistant Chief Reynolds arrived and assumed Lincoln Highway Command. Fire police were requested from Keystone, Westwood and Wagontown to close down a portion of Old Mill Road.

Engine 31-1 arrived at 1314 hours and immediately began an assessment of the rescue needs. To open the vehicle for patient packaging it was determined the car doors and roof would need to be removed. Firefighters went into service with Hurst hydraulic rescue tools to accomplish these tasks in coordination with the EMS crews on scene.

At 1333 hours the extrication was complete and the patients were transported to local hospitals for further evaluation. Firefighters cleaned up the extrication process and returned to quarters at 1351 hours.
