On April 6th, 2014 at 1857 hours the City of Coatesville Bureau of Fire and surrounding fire companies were dispatched for an apartment building fire in the 700 block of Coates Street.

At 1900 hours the police department went on location with the first floor of a 2 story duplex fully involved. Coatesville Battalion Chief Patton requested a working fire dispatched which summoned the Sadsburyville Fire Company to the scene for the rapid intervention assignment.

Sadsburyville firefighters took their equipment to side A and then deployed multiple ladders to all sides of the structure, for means of egress in the event of a firefighter emergency. Firefighters did a 360 of the structure to become familiar with the building and it's layout. During the incident 360s were conducted frequently to check for a change in any conditions.

Fortunately during the fire there were no firefighter maydays. After the fire was under control at 2047 hours, the RIT broke down and Sadsburyville firefighters were sent to the roof to assist with that operation. Firefighters remained on the scene assisting with salvage, overhaul and clean up before being released at 2243 hours.
