| On Saturday June 22nd, 2013 members of the Sadsburyville Fire Company took a day out of their weekend to volunteer to help raise funds for our organization. The event for the fundraiser was a chicken barbecue. The event was held at the Black Walnut Winery at Lincoln Highway and Octorara Road in Sadsburyville, Pennsylvania. Weeks of preparation led up to the chicken barbecue where members went out to the community and region to find donations to supply almost all of the goods sold. The meal consisted of a chicken half, baked beans, potato salad, rolls and butter, chips or pretzels, Amish bakes goods and a drink of punch or iced tea. Almost all of these items were donated leaving our cost to a minimum. Also on display was our fire apparatus and fire prevention material. By the end of the 7 hour barbecue, all of the chickens were sold out, selling over 400 chickens. Thank you to all of our sponsors for contributing to this successful event:
Thank you to all of the patrons for coming out and supporting our event. If you have any feedback on our barbecue please don't hesitate to email us at info@sfc31.com. |
