On December 24th, 2012 at 1037 hours, despite being Christmas Eve, volunteers from the Sadsburyville Fire Company responded to assist the Pomeroy Fire Company in the 1900 block of Valley Road in Sadsbury Township South for an oven fire.

Within minutes Deputy Chief Supplee arrived on location to find a working kitchen fire but did not wish to upgrade the assignment to a house fire. Pomeroy Assistant Chief Gathercole assumed Valley Road Command.

Engine 29-1 and Engine 31-1 arrived on scene simultaneously and led off with a fire extinguisher to suppress the fire. The fire was quickly placed under control at 1049 hours.

Sadsburyville units cleared the scene at 1107 hours.
