Pump and Hose Line Refresher
By Fire Chief Adam Grossman
April 23, 2012
On Monday April 23rd, 2012 numerous volunteer firefighters from the Sadsburyville Fire Company No. 1 joined together for weekly training. The purpose of the night was to have a refresher on pumping our fire apparatus and hose line management.
Engine 31-2 arrived on location of the training site and acted as the attack pumper. Engine 31-1 came in behind and did a reverse lay to a fire hydrant to supply Engine 31-2.
Crews pulled a 1-3/4" hand line and flowed water to give the pump operators refreshment on pumping fire apparatus. In addition 600' of 5" hose was charged to supply Engine 31-1 to Engine 31-2.
The night was a success for our volunteers as they continue on a regular basis to better their selves for our organization and our community. The amount of countless hours our dedicated volunteers put in is incredible and most times goes unnoticed.
