Two Calls For Day Time Crew

On April 16th, 2012 at 1358 hours the Pomeroy, Sadsburyville, Parkesburg, Westwood and West Grove Fire Companies were dispatched to the unit block of Helen Street in Sadsbury Township for a reported house fire. Caller reported their smoke alarms going off and smoke coming from the basement.

At 1404 hours Captain 29 arrived on location and reported nothing showing from the end of the row. Captain Dalmas established Helen Street Command and requested the first Engine on scene to hit the hydrant at Helen Street and Wallace Alley.

Westwood Engine 44-5 arrived on location at 1404 hours and began investigating the situation.

Engine 31-1 arrived on location next at 1405 hours and backed up Westwood Firefighters.

Engine 31-2 also responded into the scene with a crew of 3 Firefighters at 1403 hours.

Units found no fire and little smoke; it was believed to be a furnace malfunction.

At 1413 hours Engine 31-2 and Rescue 28 redirected to Boroline Road and Old Stotsville Road for a woods fire, reported by Deputy 29. Crews arrived to find the fire extinguished by the culprits.

Sadsburyville units were available at 1421 hours from both calls.
