On Sunday April 9th, 2023 at 02:51, the Sadsburyville Fire Company was dispatched as part of a mutual aid assignment to the 100 block of Washington Street in Parkesburg Borough for a house on fire. This is a Keystone Valley Fire Department local and multiple fire companies from Chester and Lancaster County Fire Companies responded to assist.

Rescue 31 arrived SDE and took position in a side alley to access the rear of the burning structures. Fire units arrived to find multiple structures on fire and rapidly spreading. Additional manpower from Engine 31 and Utility 31 were also on scene.

At one point of the incident there was a mayday reported from interior firefighting crews. RIT was deployed to rescue the downed firefighter and all personnel made it safely out of the structure. Stand by companies were backfilled into Sadsburyville to cover the area while fire companies were operating at this fire well into the morning.
