At 09:10 this morning, Sadsburyville Volunteers were alerted to assist the Westwood Fire Company on a commercial building fire in the 100 block of Airport Road in Valley Township. Rescue 31, Brush 31 and Deputy 31 all made the response.

Deputy 31 arrived to find a small fire from cooking which was brought outside from the kitchen area to the rear of the business. Rescue 31 went into service with a trash line, extinguishing the fire.

During the initial fire the sprinkler system was set off inside the business. Crews from Wagontown Fire Company made entrance to the sprinkler room and shut the system down. Crews from Keystone Valley Fire Department with Ladder 08 made their way to the roof to ensure no fire extended to the roof line.

The fire was placed under control shortly after the crews arrived. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
