Earlier this evening at 16:59, Sadsburyville Fire Company was alerted to a Brush Fire on Frederick Road in Sadsbury Township. Brush 31 arrived first to find a 50ft x 20ft section of large wood debris and miscellaneous trash on fire in the tree line to the rear of an occupied structure. Brush 31 went in service with a booster line and 1-3/4” attack line.

Engine 31 arrived shortly after and began water supply to the brush unit. Additional resources were called to the scene bringing Tanker 08 and Tac 08 from the Keystone Valley Fire Department for additional water and manpower, as well as Engine 35 from the Wagontown Fire Company.

Crews had the incident under control in under an hour and shortly after all units cleared the scene. This incident shows that even a controlled burn in a rain storm can still get out of control. Please consult your local town ordinance before burning anything.
