House Fire on Reel Street, Sadsbury Township

On Tuesday September 21st, 2021 at 1645 hours the Sadsburyville, Westwood and Wagontown Fire Companies and the Keystone Valley Fire Department were dispatched for a house fire in Sadsbury Township. The location of the incident was in the unit block of Reel Street in Pomeroy Heights. The call to 911 indicated a house was on fire with flames visible.

Battalion 31 arrived and reported nothing showing. Upon investigation there was a small bedroom fire and it was quickly extinguished by a neighbor with a portable fire extinguisher who is also a firefighter with our company.

Engine 31-1 arrived and checked the fire room for extension into the structure. Engine 31-2 arrived and ventilated the structure of smoke using positive pressure ventilation.

The incident was scaled back to Sadsburyville units and Ambulance 41-1 to evaluate 1 patient for smoke inhalation. The Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office responded also to investigate the cause of the fire.
