Serious Accident in Sadsburyville

On Saturday May 29th, 2021 at 1911 hours the Sadsburyville Fire Company and mutual aid EMS from Keystone Valley and Tower Health were dispatched to Octorara Trail and Lincoln Highway in Sadsbury Township for an auto accident. Updated 911 calls indicated the accident to be serious in nature and located at Lincoln Highway and Octorara Road in Sadsburyville, the vehicle to be on fire and unconscious subjects trapped inside.

Arriving first due Deputy 31 confirmed the updated report of the location and seriousness of the incident. Upon his arrival bystanders had extricated 3 patients from the vehicle all with serious injuries. Additional ALS and BLS units were dispatched to assist from the Westwood Fire Company and Washington Hose Company.

Engine 31-1 arrived first due Rescue-Engine and firefighters deployed the front bumper line and suppressed the fire in the vehicle that was in the woods on the north side of Lincoln Highway.

Keystone Ambulance 08 arrived and began triaging the patients. MICU 144 and MICU 44-1 (Westwood) arrived as the first and second due ALS units and took immediate care of the patients with serious injuries. Ambulance 41-5 assisted with all patients but did not transport and was made available from the scene. Medic 93 arrived third due and transported with Ambulance 08. All three ambulances transported to a trauma center.

Fire police from Sadsburyville, Wagontown and Westwood all operated on the scene closing Lincoln Highway between Octorara Road and Green Hill Road. Fire Chief Grossman held the Lincoln Highway Command until 0804 hours, releasing the scene to the PA State Police and fire police officers for the investigation could be completed.
