Engine Room Building Addition

The year 2020 comes to an end and how grateful we are for the engine room building addition that our members and donors have completed this year!

The engine room building addition project started over 10 years ago with planning, approval and fundraising. The year 2020, was the year it came to fruition. For many years half of our apparatus has been stored outside, bearing the elements, and now we can finally say with the last snow storm, it was great to not have to dig out some vehicles!

The new engine room includes 4 bay doors in the front and 2 bay doors in the back. Each side has entry man doors and a second story door for a future buildout. Inside the well insulated building you can find the utility room and restroom. As funds become available we will have restrooms with showers for decontamination, a kitchenette and lounge/bunk area for our crews to maintain overnight staffing. The floors include floor drains and the bays are large enough to open the cabs inside the building for maintenance routines. The building over all is over 4200 square feet and is located on the south side of our current administration building/old engine room.

All of this would not of been able to be accomplished without the hard work of our own volunteers that spent countless hours doing site work and helping with construction to bring the project in under budget and saved us a lot of money. We also are grateful for the following businesses and vendors that have donated or contributed to the project:
Greg Vietri Inc.
Joe Zyndinksy
JYF Partners
Sunbelt Rentals
Fling's Towing
L and L Restoration
Bill Smith Excavating
Allen Meyers
R Wells Paving
Delaware Valley Concrete
Brandywine Stone
Hoover Buildings
