Strong Storm Hits Hard on Valley Road

By Fire Chief Adam Grossman
July 17, 2019

This past Wednesday the Sadsburyville Fire Company was dispatched to the 2000 block of Valley Road in Sadsbury Township for a trees and wires incident with wires down on an occupied vehicle. The caller reported multiple trees and wires down with a power outage in the area.

Within minutes the company responded, streeting Engine 1 and the Deputy. Units arrived to find the vehicle unoccupied and trees and wires down blocking Valley Road from Shamrock Lane to Virginia Avenue. Peco was immediately notified of the extensive damage and an immediate response was requested.

Throughout the next two days, Valley Road remained closed for traffic while the trees, poles and wires were cleaned up and power was restored. Thank you Westwood and Keystone Valley Fire Police for assisting with the road closure.

Units: Engine 31-1, Deputy 31

Mutual Aid: Station 44 and 08
