Close Call On Pebble Lane

On Friday January 29th, 2010 at 2044 hours 5 Engine, 1 Truck, 1 Tanker and 1 Ambulance from the Sadsburyville, Pomeroy, Parkesburg, Wagontown and Westwood Fire Companies were dispatched to the 500 block of Pebble Lane in the Quarry Ridge Section of Sadsbury Township for a house fire. Fire Chief Supplee responded at 2045 hours and was advised by CCFB that the side of the house was on fire being reported by the homeowner.

Pomeroy Assistant Chief Gathercole arrived on the scene at 2047 hours and reported a 2 story frame type single family dwelling with nothing showing. Fire Chief Supplee arrived at 2048 hours and assumed Pebble Lane Command.

After further investigating it was determined the fire was extinguished by the homeowner and minor overhaul of the siding by the front door was needed.

Engine 31-2 arrived at 2050 hours and removed siding from the house from the burn area. The fire was completely extinguished and the assignment was held to Engine 31-2.

Crews ventilated the house with a minor smoke condition. Pebble Lane Command made the assignment available at 2059 hours.
