Auto Accident Involving a Horse and Buggy

On March 19th, 2019 the Sadsburyville Fire Company responded to an auto accident involving a horse and buggy. Fire Chief Grossman arrived on location and reported a two vehicle accident blocking the westbound lanes of Lincoln Highway at Old Mill Road and investigated for injuries.

Engine 31-1, Engine 31-2, Squad 31 and Utility 31 all made the response within minutes of being dispatched. Firefighters arrived and secured the hazards on the vehicle involved and helped with securing the horse that survived the accident. Fortunately there were not any serious injuries as a result of this accident that were reported at the scene.

Fire Police directed eastbound traffic around the scene and westbound traffic was shut down at Octorara Road. Additional personnel assisted the Amish family with transportation of the horse. All units cleared the scene within an hour of being dispatched after M & N Towing cleared the vehicles.
