On Monday December 15th, 2014 at 1257 hours the Sadsburyville, Westwood and Wagontown Fire Companies and the Keystone Valley Fire Department were dispatched to the 200 block of West Stewart Huston Drive in Sadsbury Township for a building fire.

Reports to 911 indicated smoke and fire coming from a building in the area. Firefighters responding to the station also gave the same report and a working fire dispatch was alerted bringing in units from the City of Coatesville, Cochranville and Modena Fire Companies and Medic 93.

Engine 31-1 went on location and confirmed the reports. Engine 31-2 laid into Engine 31-1 and prepared to supply them with water. Both engines were on scene just 8 minutes after the time of dispatch.

Assistant Chief Reynolds held the Stewart Huston Command reporting a 200' x 200' building with smoke showing.

Upon investigation it was determined there was a piece of equipment on fire inside of the building and fire was exhausting from its vent pipe. A automatic fire sprinkler system knocked down the fire and had it contained to the area of origin.

The assignment was scaled back to the first units on scene. Firefighters overhauled the piece of equipment assuring all flames had been extinguished. The fire was placed under control at 1311 hours. Final Sadsburyville units cleared the scene at 1334 hours.
